Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is Scotland’s national skills body. The organisation contributes to Scotland’s sustainable economic growth by supporting people and businesses to develop and apply their skills.
The high profile event was the official launch of the South of Scotland Regional Skills Investment Plan.
By considering the limitations of the venue (a space that had to accommodate the demonstration of both the diversity of skill development and the positive impact of this development on a successful business), we worked with the business owner to deliver a series of demonstrations and questions and answer sessions, before facilitating a round table discussion.
The concept worked well, with the broad spectrum of guests, who included representatives from Skills Development Scotland, the South of Scotland Enterprise Partnership, Borders College and Scottish Borders Council, commenting on how clearly they could see the positive impact of upskilling a workforce – for both employee and employer
The guests learned first hand about the benefits of working with young people, skilling them to meet the needs of businesses today and for the future.
“I was extremely pleased with how the Plan South of Scotland Regional Skills Investment Plan launch went, and we received some very positive feedback from our Chief Executive after the event.”
